Welcome Back Lewisville

Premier Gun Shows returned to Lewisville this past weekend, Nov. 22 and 23 at Lakeland Plaza, just west of I-35 at Hwy. 121.  Lewisville was always a highly regarded show by vendors since it regularly attracted a buying audience.  I always enjoyed the show because of the highly knowledgeable attendees.  It was worth the wait in line simply to talk to good people and pick up a valuable tip or two.  I also liked the venue since it accommodated at least 400 tables and once you were through with the main floor, there were always cool vendors in ‘The Man Cave.’

So, how did the new location measure up?  Although smaller than the Lewsville Event Center, Lakeland Plaza was an adequate venue and it had kind of a mixed vibe between Mesquite and Big Town.  Decent restrooms were open at the back of the building along with a very generous concession area.

Saturday morning was cool and wet, but not terribly cold or rainy.  This can actually be good weather for a gun show since it is comfortable enough to get outside, but not good enough for other outdoor activities.

I arrived a couple minutes before 9AM and here are pictures of the venue and opening line.

That’s a pretty respectable opening line for a new show and I really liked the covered area with food and coffee immediately available.  The show opened at 9:02 AM on my watch and there were another ten people behind me in line.

Traffic flowed in at a steady pace all morning. I left at 11:30 AM and there were still people waiting in line and walking in from the parking lot.  I also watched numerous people walk out of the show with boxes, sacks, and other purchases.  Several of the vendors I talked to reported decent sales, so it appears like the old Lewisville show is back, albeit at a smaller size than in the past.

Here is a sampling of vendors at the show.  I did not break the list down by category.
