New Focus For Texas Gun Show Review

Posted: March 2, 2015 in General

If you are a regular blog reader, then you have probably noticed a lack of gun show reviews and pricing updates since December.  Unfortunately, I am in a severe time crunch as of late 2014/early 2015.  I’m in the process of moving into a full-time position in the private security industry. On top of that, I now do volunteer work for the Carrollton PD.  As if that was not enough, I must still devote regular weekly time to martial arts and firearms training.  And, if that was still not enough, I am in a situation where I must deal with a number of health issues with my parents.

So, something has to give as the saying goes.  Although I have received good private feedback on regular pricing updates from Texas Gun Shows, it is an extraordinarily time-consuming process.  It is also expensive to branch out of the north Texas area.  When I combine that with the fact that show reviews rank the lowest in terms of search engine traffic to the blog, then it is clearly the most expendable area of TGR.

Moving forward, I plan on a very limited number of show reviews each year, most likely limited to SHOT, NRA, Tulsa Arms, etc.  The frequency of posting will be 2-3 posts per month, and will be limited to guest posts or product reviews.  Product reviews receive very high search-engine click-through and are also the posts generating the most email and private communication.

I want to thank everyone who has kept up with the blog and invite shooting-sports enthusiasts throughout Texas to consider guest-posting on TGR.  I will consider guest posts on any variety of topics from women and guns to conceal-carry issues to product and range reviews.  Please contact me at txgunshowreview [at] gmail [dot] com if you are interested.  No blatant sales pitches, politics, or axes to grind, please.
